MS Sedco Accessories for Automated Entrances

MS Sedco automatic pedestrian entrance products offer safety, reliability, and good value. At right are pictured the MS Sedco 59 series actuators. These are available in a wide variety of colors, styles and text options and can be coupled with an MS Sedco transmitter package to make them wireless as well. They offer a good quality alternative to actuators offered by power operator manufacturers that tend to be higher priced.

In addition to traditional actuators, MS Sedco offers a variety of motion and presence sensors to enhance safety and decrease wiring for automatic door installations.

MS Sedco SafePath^TM products are designed to prevent injury by keeping high energy auto operators from closing automatic doors on pedestrians. For example, the D38 sensor at right uses patented Human Presence Radar^TM (HPR ^TM) microwave technology to provide additional motion detection after the automatic door opening process is initiated. First the D38 activates the door using conventional doppler radar, then switches to HPR to detect human presence in the opening in order to maintain the automatic door in the open state until the person has moved past it and into safety. Since high energy power operators can injure or even kill, this kind of technology should be standard on all openings equipped with high energy power operators.

In response to diverse field conditions MS Sedco has created a wide variety of actuators. At right are pictured actuators with and included on-board mortise cylinder-operated key switch, handy for systems that need to be shut down at night, for example. Since the unit takes a standard mortise cylinder, it is easy to integrate the unit into your building's master key system, or key it alike your building entrance.

MS Sedco also makes one of the only actuators described as "virtually indestructable". As any installer will tell you, a virtually indestructable actuator is good idea given the vandalism to which these actuators are often subjected.

Commander series timer modules from MS Sedco are available for complete management of all automatic pedestrian door hardware and accessories, including presence sensors, infrared safety sensors, actuators, power operators, and electric locking hardware.

The model 922-TD shown at right complies with NFPA life safety code.

Designed primarily for decreasing installation cost, infrared beam units activate the power operator when an object or person interrupts the beam. Power loss to the model BP2 unit shown at right causes the doors to open, creating a fail safe type of operation.
